What You Need to Know to Launch Your Online Business Successfully

Ok, so I get this question quite a bit.

I get asked to speak, write, and give my input on the topic of business since starting Eckis Marketing (see this post to read the full story of Eckis Marketing).

Launching a business is easy. But creating a successful avenue and a healthy stream of on-going revenue is not. And in order to do this, you need a couple of essentials to ensure that you are constantly giving your online business the lifeblood it deserves.

Now, let me preface this post before we dive in. These essentials are what have worked for me and my consulting clients that have launched their businesses online. If you want to learn more about my personal brand consulting contact me here.

Essentials you need to know NOW to launch your online business are 5 essential tools that I used to create my business and help my clients to build theirs.

The first is the home for your business.

I personally am partial to creating a beautiful website. I mean who isn’t right? I love Squarespace and personally recommend it to all of my brands and clients. HOWEVER, I also love to be efficient and get things done FAST.

My go-to brand for beautiful website templates is GO LIVE HQ. I featured Promise Teagan on my podcast - EPISODE ## and I love her passion behind giving people the ability to give their business a beautifully curated website for under a thousand dollars. GO LIVE HQ also provides an installation service for $200. Trust me - when you are wanting to launch hard and fast, this service becomes your new best friend.

The next essential tool is a scheduling platform. I am personally partial to Later, but recently I have been loving Planoly. In fact, Planoly puts out content calendar work sheets every single month to help map out your content for the month. Having a scheduler for your social media is essential because you NEED to be consistent and strategic with your business, as well as making it look beautiful.

Consistency is key here.

The next essential tool is a game plan on identifying where your consumer, client, or customer is at. I cannot explain how important it is to identify your consumer before you launch your business, but identifying where they live is just as important.

What I mean when I say where they live, is where does your client spend their time? Which platform do they spend the most time on?

Instagram?

Pinterest?

Other bloggers’ blogs?

Identify how they spend their time consuming content and engage with them on those platforms. If they are IG lovers, spend 30 minutes a day engaging with them. Comment on their posts, engage with their stories, and interact socially with them! A great way to identify insights and stats for IG is PeopleMap. For those looking into insights for Pinterest, check out Pinterest Trends. For other resources and insights into identifying your client or who they are engaged with, check out the Google Chrome plug-in, UpFluence.

One of our amazing interns at Eckis Marketing, told me about UpFluence. Not only is it great for analyzing influencers’ stats from a high-level overview, but it’s super helpful to identify what their audience / demographics of their followers is made up of. Cue top cities, ages, gender…etc!

These three essentials are key to launching your business online NOW. Ensure that you are ready to rock and roll and launch that bad boy!

Stay hungry, xx.
