Why in the hell did I start a blog...
/It’s absolutely unbelievable how much push back I got about starting this blog…
“you have too much going on.”
“you have no place in starting a blog or being an ‘influencer’”
“…why?”
Why in the hell did I start a blog?
Here’s the deal. I love to write. I always have, and even though I don’t need to justify to anyone why I am creating a space to express my passions - I feel like this is truly the next step for me.
I spent the early part of my 20s building out my experience in marketing and building a creative agency (see Eckis Marketing). With that, I have acquired a taste for good high-quality content and wanted to share a bit of my own. I have spent the last 7 years marketing, promoting and successfully building someone else’s brand baby and now I want to do it for myself.
Don’t get me wrong, Eckis is still very much still my day-to-day and I will continue to proceed with business as usual. But consider this blog my new passion project.
So here we are… do I get to change my profile info from “entrepreneur” to “blogger” on IG? - maybe?
All I know is that I have one goal for this…
I broke down the other day because I felt like I had zero help. Like I wished I had someone to help me navigate through all the shit I was going through. Then I realized, I wish there was a How-To for all the different things I was navigating through…
And I am not just talking about business-related issues. I am talking like what bottle of wine to bring to your boyfriend’s family dinner or how to train your massive 40lb Frenchie to stop laying on your pottery barn pillows or what to do when you have no fucking clue what to do (see coronavirus, mercury retrograde, and how to not panic when you are out of espresso pods).
All jokes aside, this is not just for me, but it's for every woman (or dude) out there that needs a little assurance and /or help to navigate their world. Also - don’t be a dick and @me for not being an ‘expert’ - these are simply the chronicles of what does and doesn’t work for me.
Here are also five immediate things you should know before we get started…
I am a serial entrepreneur with a passion for brand development, creative marketing, and doing things very differently. I have a creative marketing agency in Downtown San Diego, a podcast, and a digital community of over 50k in following that I built myself.
If cursing is not for you - neither am I. Transparency is key here.
Being Real: everything on this blog is 100% verified and condoned by me. I will bring you the cream of the crop in regards to brands, products, reviews, and testimonies of anything I feel is fitting for this blog. No fluff - just the necessities.
